The King of Bain
The devil, I mean Bain Capital, is a greedy monster. Mitt Romney and the other co-founders of this vulture capitalist firm are Hitler and Leopold reincarnate. As a Newt Gingrich super PAC shows in the short film “When Mitt Romney Came to Town”, Bain Capital tore down small businesses across America to feed its Wall-Street sized greed. How can we expect a selfish man like Willard Mitt Romney to be our president? Because he is smart, that’s why. In addition to serving his constituents (the stockholders), Mitt Romney is a genius in his manipulation of the American market. Having this economic savvy is not a bad thing (ok Newt!).
A President is supposed to serve his people, his constituents. This is exactly what Mitt Romney did at Bain Capital. Bain Capital is a venture capitalism firm. The purpose of venture capitalism is to make money. This is exactly what Bain did under Mitt Romney. Initial investors and shareholders were rewarded as Bain Capital stock soared. The shareholders, or the constituents, expected large amounts of profit from the risk they were taking. Mitt Romney, being a responsible worker for his constituents, delivered these profits. Just like a President, Romney did what was best for his people.
But c’mon now, Mitt Romney and Bain are the reason people have lost their jobs in Florida and Iowa and almost every other state. How can we trust this man to serve the well-being of all Americans?
While working at Bain, Mitt Romney was not a government employee. The jobs of the local blue-collar workers in Iowa was not his responsibility. His responsibility was to make his investors money. And he more than succeeded at that. His job description at Bain was to make money for himself and others. His job description as the President will be to promote the well-being of the American people. He succeeded in the first job, who says he can’t succeed in the second?
But everything so far has been to refute negative attacks on Mitt Romney’s work at Bain Capital. Now to why his work at Bain is a positive. To put it simply, Willard is frickin smart! He was brilliant in manipulating the market to make profits. Mitt Romney has proven to be an economic genius. Who better to solve an economic crisis? He did what he was supposed to do for his stockholders at Bain. He did what he was supposed to do for the people of Massachusetts. Gingrich can have his charisma, Santorum can have his family values, Paul can have his steadfast beliefs. But at the end of the day, we need an intelligent President who can adapt to the country’s ever-changing social and economic needs.
Mitt Romney is by no means a perfect candidate, but he is intelligent enough to succeed in this role. Hopefully Americans can look behind the lowly attack-ads and the superficial hook-lines to see that not only is Romney’s work at Bain Capital symbol of his intelligence, but that he can use these same skills in a different, more executive, job.
